The “Locked & Loaded” private Bodycam playtest began on August 29, 2026, and remains restricted to selected accounts. The test is therefore not open to everyone who submits a request through Steam: registration does not guarantee an invitation.

Invitations are still being sent

Requests are submitted from the Bodycam Steam page. Selected players receive a Steam notification and an email at the address linked to their account. Invitations may continue to arrive progressively through August 31, 2026, at 02:00 UTC, so registering players still have a limited window to check both channels.

Invited accounts do not need a code. Once access is granted, the playtest appears directly in the player’s Steam library. That process applies only to selected participants; submitting an application alone does not unlock the test.

Players who gain access are also authorized to record and publish content. There is no NDA for participants admitted to the playtest, although that permission does not extend to accounts that are still waiting for an invitation.

Weapons and customization are available immediately

The test unlocks weapons, accessories and customization options from the beginning of the session. Its purpose is also to put the new systems and matchmaking through a live test before the free update scheduled for September 2. That update is expected to introduce an economy and a progression system.

There is one clear limitation to the current test: progress is temporary. The equipment and customization options can be explored immediately, but any gains made during the playtest will be reset before the September 2 update. Players should treat this period as a preview of the systems rather than an early route into the update’s progression.

What remains unknown

The official announcement published on Steam does not specify how many players will be invited, nor does it detail how the planned economy and progression systems will work. It also confirms no platform or region beyond the Steam ecosystem, leaving the broader availability of the September 2 update unconfirmed.

Players who have already registered should monitor Steam and the email address linked to their account until the August 31 deadline. No purchase is needed for selected accounts, so a code advertised as necessary should not be treated as an official access requirement. The playtest ends before the update, and its progress will not carry over; further information from JEU.VIDEO can be followed from our homepage.
