Discovery Tour App: AlUla is available as a free educational experience on iOS, Android and any web browser, Ubisoft announced on 16 September 2026. The app takes users to AlUla, Saudi Arabia, to explore the region’s history and heritage through content based on Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory.

Ubisoft says the experience is available worldwide in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Arabic and Simplified Chinese. The publisher’s announcement does not specify a start time, end date or access limit for the free availability.

Three sections covering AlUla’s history

Access Codex gathers encyclopedic entries about AlUla’s history and heritage. Ubisoft says the material was created with historians and other experts, with texts and images of real artifacts supplied by partner institutions. Some objects can also be viewed in 3D through augmented reality.

Explore AlUla offers a narrative journey lasting approximately 90 minutes. According to Ubisoft, each mission invites users to explore historical sites while learning about the region. This duration is the publisher’s estimate, not an independent measurement.

Finally, Enter Chronology follows the periods that shaped AlUla, from prehistory to the Abbasid Caliphate and onward to the contemporary era. Its timeline therefore extends beyond the 9th-century setting represented by the reconstruction used as the app’s foundation.

What the free access announcement confirms

The reconstruction draws on Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory, which presents AlUla during the golden age of the Abbasid Empire in the 9th century. The app broadens that starting point with reference material, artifact imagery and a chronology covering several historical periods.

For access, the confirmed scope is straightforward: the app is free and announced for iOS, Android and web browsers. Ubisoft has not stated in the announcement whether this access is permanent or limited to a defined period, so no end date can be given.

The app combines an approximately 90-minute narrative journey with encyclopedic entries and a chronology covering AlUla’s history across multiple periods.
