A finale built around several types of content
The 6 chapters provide the narrative conclusion to Visions of Eternity, while Leyspring Hollows gives players a new map tied to the release. The endgame additions cover both structured group play and rift activities: Solitary Throne is a fractal, while Nexus of Eternity arrives as a raid encounter with a separate Convergence version.
The update also includes a seasonal refresh for the Wizard’s Vault, alongside new rewards and achievements. That gives the release a reason to return to the game’s reward track even after players finish the finale itself.
Rift Amplification changes how rifts are reached and escalated
The new Rift Amplification mastery line contains four tiers: Rift Tears, Overcharged Rifts, Tearing Across Tyria, and Overcharge Tyria. Its progression first improves access to active rifts, then extends that system across Tyria and adds a higher-risk option for additional rewards.
Rift Tears lets players use the Heart of the Obscure to find alternate routes to the active rift they are tracking in nonactive rift areas across Castora. Interacting with a Rift Tear teleports them directly to that active rift, reducing the travel required to reach the event being followed.
After the first part of a rift event, Overcharged Rifts lets players use a motivation of the same tier to trigger a greater challenge and an additional threat from rift instability. Overcoming that threat grants additional rewards, so the choice is tied to a clear trade-off: the event becomes more demanding in exchange for a better payout.
The final 2 tiers broaden both parts of the system. Tearing Across Tyria allows Rift Tears to be used across any rifts in Tyria, while Overcharge Tyria lets players overcharge all rifts in Tyria that can be opened with the Heart of the Obscure.
New armor, weapons, and Wizard’s Vault rewards
Playing through the story rewards the Tenebral Ward armor set. Players can also craft arms from the Shining Ward weapon set. Among the other announced rewards is Wages of Stars, a legendary sword that hovers near its wielder when sheathed.
The Wizard’s Vault refresh adds the Gwyl Knight weapon set, the Ward Hunter mask, leggings, coat, and cape, plus the Bird Pond Chair. Past cosmetic rewards remain available in the Wizard’s Vault Legacy tab, so the seasonal refresh does not remove those earlier options from that section.

The announced Guild Wars 2 Twitch Drops are tied to a separate deadline rather than the September 15 release date. Players must watch streams for a total of 6 hours before September 20 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7), which corresponds to September 21 at 6:59 a.m. UTC. The rewards include the Arcane Occultist’s Hat.
