To win more often in Call of Duty: Mobile ranked, play the objective before chasing isolated duels. Choose a clear task, lock down useful routes and save your scorestreaks to defend or retake an area.

Available modes and maps may change with the season. Check the in-game selection before starting a ranked match.

Follow the mode’s rules before chasing duels

Activision lists Domination, Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed among its multiplayer modes. Your tempo should follow the match rules.

ModePriorityMistake to avoid
DominationHold two zones and cut off reinforcements.Leaving two secure points to attack the third alone.
Search and DestroyGet information, then play around the number of lives.Sprinting alone toward the opposing site.
Team DeathmatchCreate two-versus-one duels from cover.Returning to the same firing line.
Kill ConfirmedSecure a dog tag only if the area is safe.Crossing an open area for a watched dog tag.

In Domination, three points can be captured. Teams switch sides and objectives become neutral again when a team reaches 100 points, according to official Activision support. Prepare the retake before that switch: one player on the point, another on reinforcements, then two covering angles.

In Search and Destroy, there are no respawns. After gaining an early numbers advantage, slow down. Close off routes and force the opponent to reveal their position.

Hold routes before pushing

Map control means holding the passages that lead to the objective. A good position offers cover, an exit and a view of an opposing entrance.

  1. Identify the nearby objective and a less exposed route.
  2. Send one player to the objective. Position the others on separate angles.
  3. After a kill, advance only as far as the next cover.
  4. If two teammates go down on the same side, regroup before retaking.
  5. After a capture or plant, watch likely entrances rather than the center of the area.

On Raid or Terminal, one long line can be held while a teammate plays the objective. On Shipment, change angles quickly: otherwise, respawns can trap you.

Give each teammate a clear task

A team does not need five fixed specialists. It needs clearly called tasks. A short message is enough: “I’m playing the point,” “I’m holding the line” or “I’m flanking.”

RoleMissionInstinct
Objective playerCapture, contest, plant or defuse.Ask for cover before exposing yourself.
AnchorHold reinforcements and protect the team’s back.Do not leave your angle for a wounded enemy.
FlankerThreaten a secondary route.Wait for teammates to make frontal contact.
FlexFill the immediate need.Follow the mini-map and move to the threatened area.

The anchor prevents attacks from behind during a capture. The flanker should primarily appear when teammates engage. When playing solo, adopt the flex role instead: stay close enough to trade a duel without stacking up on the same sightline.

Keep scorestreaks for the retake

The lobby’s Scorestreaks menu lets you change your streaks. Loadouts also include weapons, perks, equipment and operator skills. Keep tools suited to your role and pace.

  • Before a capture, use information or pressure, then enter as a pair.
  • After a plant, keep a tool to slow the defuse.
  • On a retake, activate utility when your teammates can contest.
  • On defense, keep an option for the opponent’s second push.

The Transform Shield can protect an advance or an objective. The Purifier is better suited to short ranges. Activate a skill with a precise area in mind: it replaces neither cover nor a teammate.

Set up your ranked match

  1. Check the selected mode and map.
  2. Prepare one loadout for your main range and a second for another range.
  3. Choose scorestreaks you reach regularly.
  4. Call the first objective and the first lane.
  5. After a lost round, change only one thing: angle, route or role.

Training Mode against AI lets you test a HUD, route or access to scorestreaks with reduced XP gains. Frequently asked questions

Should you capture all three points in Domination ?

No. Two well-defended points are often enough. Only attempt the third if the opposing team is disorganized.

What should you do after a kill in Search and Destroy ?

Call out the position and count the remaining lives. With the advantage, close off routes instead of looking for a second duel.

Which role should you choose in solo ranked matches ?

The flex role is the safest. It lets you help with the objective, trade a duel and cover a threatened area.

When should you use a scorestreak to retake a point ?

Wait until two teammates can advance. A streak used alone does not secure the capture.
