Fixes for some tutorial quest blockers and boss respawn issues in ArcheAge Chronicles are complete, but their deployment has yet to be announced. The developers have also offered temporary guidance for groups encountering progression problems during early access.

In its November 4, 2026 update on Steam, the team addressed problems encountered at launch, from blocked quests and crashes to controls and performance.

Quest and boss fixes are ready

The completed fixes cover some tutorial quest blockers and a problem that can stop certain bosses from respawning after a player leaves their area and returns. The team has not confirmed when those fixes will be applied to the game.

A separate issue remains under investigation after a player dies against Malchuk: the boss may fail to respawn, or the player may be unable to respawn. The team is also looking into quests that can become blocked after dialogue with a non-player character in certain areas, including Cliffs of Madness.

Dungeon groups should stay together

Progression can become blocked, or access to the next area prevented, if the party leader leaves or the group disbands during a dungeon. Until a fix is available, the team recommends that players stay together after completing the dungeon and wait until the party has moved into the next area. It does not guarantee that this will prevent the problem.

Some key items are also individual rather than shared across the party. Each player needs to obtain their own key for the items concerned, even when progressing as a group.

Players whose characters become stuck in the terrain can try pressing Esc and selecting Escape. If that fails, the team suggests restarting the game, logging back in and trying again.

Crashes, controls and platform support

The developers plan to address some reported crashes in the next patch while continuing to investigate others. Players whose game becomes stuck during anti-cheat initialization are asked to attach a screenshot to a support ticket; support is also accessible from the Esc menu.

Free remapping of movement keys and an option to hide the chat window entirely are planned, though the team has not given a timeline. The existing chat language filter is under Settings > Game Options > Chat Language Filter.

The party interface also has a channel transfer button that lets players join their leader's channel. It appears only under certain conditions, which the announcement does not specify.

Linux and Steam Deck are not officially supported at this stage, although the team says it will continue to evaluate possible support. It has also received reports of stuttering and frame rate drops and plans to continue optimization during early access.

For players waiting on the completed quest and boss fixes, the remaining step is their deployment. Other problems, including the Malchuk respawn issue, are still being investigated.
