Horde Siege’s launch lineup features Assault for medium-range combat, Breacher for close combat, Marksman for precision and Medic for support. Each class has its own progression path, so start with the role you want to play, then use its unlocks to shape your loadout.

The abilities and progression below follow the official multiplayer overview published on July 30, 2026. They describe the system prepared for launch; later updates may have changed it, including the available classes.

Choose your role before the mission

Before each Horde Siege mission, you choose a class with its own starting loadout, combat bonus, unlock path and tactical equipment. That equipment has a cooldown, so consider both its effect and the wait before you can use it again when picking a role.

Assault is the choice for medium-range combat. It gains a damage bonus while in cover, and its Sonic Disruptor stuns enemies. Choose it if you want a role built around fighting from cover; use the Disruptor with its cooldown in mind.

Breacher favors close-range damage. Its Adrenaline Injector restores health and reduces incoming damage, while the class has greater resistance to status effects and melee damage. It is an alternative to Assault when you prefer fighting closer to the enemy.

Marksman focuses on precision damage and receives improved critical damage. Its Pulse Drone marks Locust enemies. Choose it when precision shots appeal more than Breacher’s close-range approach.

Medic offers a support role. Its Stim Vaporizer heals and revives soldiers within range, including members of other squads, and the Medic’s health regenerates faster. When helping an ally, account for the Vaporizer’s range and cooldown.

The Coalition says a squad can include multiple players using the same class. Different roles give the squad access to different abilities, but you do not have to abandon your preferred class because a teammate has already picked it.

Unlock and equip your mods

At launch, each class has 30 levels. Progression unlocks weapons and equipment, along with armor, tactical equipment and weapon mods. A weapon mod requires an extra step: after unlocking it on the class path, you must buy it with Weapon Parts before equipping it.

  1. Choose the class whose combat role suits you before a mission.
  2. Level up that class until you unlock the weapon mod you want.
  3. Complete optional mission objectives that may award Weapon Parts.
  4. Have at least one squad member successfully extract and complete the mission to keep the parts earned during it.
  5. Buy the unlocked mod with Weapon Parts, equip it, and check the weapon’s configuration before your next mission.

Keep the distinction between unlocking and purchasing in mind when planning a loadout. Reaching a mod on the class path makes it available to buy; it does not equip the mod for you.

Match your mods to your role

Armor mods can affect health, ammunition reserves or weapon swap speed. Compare those effects with what you want from your loadout: extra health, more ammunition and faster swaps address different needs. The useful choice depends on your role and the effects available to you.

Tactical equipment mods can reduce cooldown, increase range or add effects. A Medic can consider an option that increases equipment range, while a shorter cooldown may suit someone who wants to use their ability more often. Check the effect before buying and equipping a mod so it supports the way you intend to use that equipment.

Weapon customization is shared between classes that equip the same weapon in Horde Siege. If you change its configuration for one class, that choice also applies to another class using the weapon. Check the configuration when switching roles, especially before changing a setup you also use elsewhere.

Keep the Weapon Parts you earn

Optional objectives can award Weapon Parts, but the squad must also meet the extraction condition to keep the parts earned during the mission. At least one member must successfully extract and complete it; the whole squad does not need to do so.

When pursuing a mod, weigh an optional objective against that condition. If no squad member successfully extracts and completes the mission, the parts earned during it are lost. Securing parts for a purchase therefore depends on completing the mission as well as finding opportunities to earn them.

Weapon mods in Versus

The July 2026 multiplayer overview describes a different setup for Versus: those modes do not use weapon mods, and players start with the same weapons and equipment. Choose a weapon mod for its use in Horde Siege rather than assuming it will improve a Versus loadout.

Start with the class whose range or support role suits you, then compare its available unlocks with the effect you want. Before buying a weapon mod, make sure you have unlocked it and kept enough Weapon Parts through a successful squad extraction. If you play on a computer, the PC settings guide covers performance and the benchmark separately.
