Dead by Daylight 10.1.0 PTB: gameplay changes

The Judgment uses Will of the Gods. The player controls a divine light with the camera for three seconds. They can then project it to injure Survivors.

A Survivor who is hit receives the Heresy status effect. Special skill checks then appear while repairing generators. A successful check can cause progression to be lost. Shrines of Judgment provide a way to remove this status effect.

The Exile functions like a hook without activating hook-related perks. The Survivor receives a Searcher’s Pendant. They can also collect Exiled Souls to temporarily strengthen their protections after being unhooked.

Aurora has three perks focused on cooperation. Fruits of your Labor rewards completed generators. Salvation’s Cry improves information during a chase. Boon: Steadfast combines blessing totems and slows the regression of nearby generators.

Several familiar perks are also changing. Call of Brine remains active longer. Sprint Burst loses one second of Haste. Adrenaline gains one second of speed. Nowhere to Hide has its radius reduced in this version.

A PTB that changes movement around the map

Chorus of Sin adds several rules that work together. Heresy hinders repairs. Shrines of Judgment provide a precise answer. The Exile replaces the standard hook and changes post-unhook protections. This combination affects movement and team decisions. It moves away from a chapter built solely around chases. The PTB nevertheless retains a clear logic: the Killer creates a threat, then the Survivors look for the right tool to reduce it.

For players, preparation changes from the start of the match. A team must locate the Shrines of Judgment and understand how the Exile works. Protections after a rescue also require a new reading of the situation. On a controller, the dedicated sensitivity setting for The Judgment may make controlling the divine light easier. These changes apply to the PTB and may still evolve before a public release.

Fixes reported by Behaviour

The PTB fixes several audio issues. Music should no longer remain stuck in the Mori preview. Repeated screams and incorrect voice lines have also been fixed.

The affected characters include Ghost Face, The Skull Merchant, The Legion, The Dredge, The Houndmaster and The Xenomorph. Ghost Face should no longer be revealed through certain wall angles. The Skull Merchant’s Drone can also once again be placed in locations that were previously blocked.

Bots are better at dodging certain special attacks. They heal their allies more often and abandon their objectives less quickly. Several maps also fix invisible collisions or problematic passages.

Nostromo, Mother’s Dwelling, Gideon Meat Plant, Rancid Abattoir and Toba Landing are among the affected areas. A fix also affects XESS with TAA mode on the Epic Games Store.

Should you try the Dead by Daylight 10.1.0 PTB?

The PTB is aimed at Steam players who want to test The Judgment or Aurora. It does not replace the stable version. Sadako and The Twins are unavailable in this branch. Some visual effects may also appear before the actual damage is dealt.

Post-unhook protections are set to ten seconds for Endurance and Haste. Elusive is added to this protection. It disappears once all generators are powered. This setting strengthens coordination during rescues, but remains exclusive to the test version.

The access rules and save separation are detailed in Behaviour’s official PTB instructions. The community origins of Chorus of Sin are explained in the official article about The Grimoire.

Open questions before the live release

  • When will Chorus of Sin arrive on public servers? Behaviour has not announced a date. This information will determine when the chapter becomes available outside the PTB.
  • Which values will remain after PTB feedback? The accuracy of Will of the Gods and the power of the Exile directly influence both sides’ strategies.
  • Will Nowhere to Hide keep its current radius? Behaviour has announced that it is considering how the perk works. The answer could change Killer perk choices.

The Dead by Daylight patch notes 10.1.0 therefore describe a test branch that is still provisional. To follow the next updates, visit the news section and the gaming articles.
