Dune: Awakening is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and through Xbox Game Pass from September 22, 2026. Alongside the Xbox launch, the game’s Book One story can now be played from beginning to end in a single playthrough, Xbox Wire announced.

Solo play comes with detailed difficulty controls
This open-world survival game sends players across Arrakis to explore its deserts, gather resources, craft equipment, build a base and advance through the story. Solo players can choose from three difficulty presets or adjust each gameplay setting individually, according to Xbox Wire.
Those settings include sandstorms, resource and experience multipliers, the limit on buildable pieces and item durability. That gives solo players control over several pressures that shape survival and base-building. On rented private servers, the available customization options depend on the provider.
The Great Convention Part III, the final chapter of Book One, has begun. Existing story missions also award new color patterns, weapon and armor variants, and decorations players can place.
PvE players can take on the endgame too
Xbox Wire says players can experience the game entirely in PvE without giving up content, gameplay mechanics or rewards. That includes the revamped Landsraad endgame, which is built around missions for solo play and multiplayer PvE. Its twenty ranks run from outsider to Atreides Envoy or Harkonnen Enforcer.
Arrakis also gains seven new mission locations, six Imperial Testing Stations, and additional contracts and dynamic encounters. Together, these additions give players more places to explore and missions to pursue without requiring PvP.
On Xbox, the listed graphics modes are Performance at 60 frames per second in dynamic 4K and Quality at 30 frames per second in dynamic 4K. Xbox Wire says the console version includes the full game, with an interface and controls adapted for console.
