Code of Creation, the final chapter of Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, launches on September 15. Theofficial Guild Wars 2 announcementpromises six new story chapters in the depths of Castora, a new Convergence, and the Solitary Throne fractal.
Guild Wars 2: Code of Creation concludes Visions of Eternity in six chapters
The beginning of Code of Creation will take players to Leyspring Hollows, where they will pursue Kuda and Vloxx.
The story will unfold across six narrative chapters. The announcement confirms the scope of the conclusion, but does not specify access requirements or progression details.
Guild Wars 2 PvE events are changing pace
The multistage meta-event Depths of Cruelty will follow a three-hour cycle instead of 2 hours. The announcement also presents it as a more demanding challenge than those already available in the expansion, while the longer cycle will reduce the number of possible starts within a given period.
The Shackles of the Ancients meta-event, meanwhile, will begin five minutes earlier. No absolute time is provided, so the announcement only establishes the relative shift.
The handling of Leyspring Hollows will also change after the meta-event. The map will close, but an invitation to join a new map will appear within the following hour rather than triggering an immediate closure. The announcement does not provide further details about how this invitation works.
Nexus of Eternity targets multiple PvE formats
The update will add the Nexus of Eternity Convergence, built around a single encounter with several distinct phases. It will incorporate challenges and mechanics from other parts of Tyria.
This structure sets it apart from the Mount Balrior and Outer Nayos Convergences, which rely on a boss rotation. Nexus of Eternity will instead use a series of phases within one confrontation.
Nexus of Eternity will also be adapted into a raid encounter for a ten-player squad. The announcement does not specify access requirements or associated rewards for either format.
The new Convergence will also introduce a rule involving essence collection. Players will have to push their essence collection to the maximum number of charges before removing them; reaching that maximum will grant a profession-based ability. The required number of charges and the ability’s effects have not yet been detailed.
The Solitary Throne fractal completes the release
The official page also announces the release of the Solitary Throne fractal. Its access requirements and rewards have not been specified.
The announcement sets September 15 as the release date for Code of Creation, without specifying a time or time zone. It also leaves the details of the essence ability to be clarified.
September 15 will mark the release of the final chapter of Visions of Eternity, alongside several changes to its PvE activities: the three-hour cycle for Depths of Cruelty, the five-minute shift for Shackles of the Ancients, and the invitation window after Leyspring Hollows closes.
