Phasmophobia v0.19.0.1 was published on September 10, 2026. The update adds the VR Belt Offset option, fixes several investigation and camera problems, and addresses issues affecting PlayStation 5, Xbox and PSVR2. The official Steam post is available here: official patch notes post. See also JEU.VIDEO.
VR, cameras and Prison Entrance
VR players can now use VR Belt Offset to lower or raise the height of the belt. The update also adjusts hand positioning for the level 1 D.O.T.S. Projector, all flashlights, all cameras and all video cameras. On PSVR2, v0.19.0.1 fixes an interface pointer that could point downward and an issue that prevented the character from moving from the centre of the play area.
Prison Entrance receives new environmental elements and fingerprint interactions. These additions provide further clues for identifying the ghost in that area, so the change affects how evidence can be read during investigations rather than adding a new map.
Investigation and multiplayer fixes
The patch corrects the attribution of several achievements when Custom Difficulty uses a multiplier of 0. It also fixes an issue that could block the correct evidence after using the Monkey Paw wish I Wish For Knowledge.
Ouija Board animations and interactions should no longer break when the Journal is opened while the board is answering. In multiplayer, players can now pick up a video camera placed on a tripod by another player. The update also fixes several cases where a video camera screen remained black during a contract.
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles, voice recognition is fixed after switching from Voice to Text and then back to Voice. The correction is specific to that transition; the same note continues to list separate console crashes as a known issue.
Known issues after the patch
The update does not resolve every problem listed by Kinetic Games. Non-English-speaking players may still see incorrect localized text for evidence captured with a video camera. The Journal may also remain difficult to read when FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 is enabled.
Two Firelight problems remain: placed level 1 Firelights cannot be lit with a lit Firelight held in the player’s hand, and Firelights do not go out when thrown after being cycled through in the inventory. The lobby Boombox may also fail to turn on.
On Restricted maps, new objects can block doors and corridors, creating new safe spots behind them. In VR, the hand animation may still rotate abnormally when using the level 1 D.O.T.S. Projector. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players should also account for the crashes still listed in the known issues.
Unity 6 is planned for November
The same announcement says that the next update is planned to transition Phasmophobia to Unity 6 in November. This follows a delay from the initial October target, but no day or time has been announced. The Crimson Eye event remains scheduled for October, also without a more precise date.
For now, v0.19.0.1 mainly changes specific VR, investigation, camera and console situations. The fixes improve those documented cases, while display problems, Firelight interactions, Restricted-map hiding spots and console stability remain on the list of issues to watch.
